This is the winding road that goes from the city of Aizawl to the second largest town of Mizoram, Lunglei. While the town itself is fairly urbanized, a short walk from its congested bowels in any direction gives you a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountain ranges which are largely green, forested and stretch for miles beyond.
I have written at length about my time in Lunglei before on this blog but it is, hands down, among the most scenic, pristine and untouched landscapes I’ve ever been to and in these times of coronavirus quarantines, cabin fevers and isolation, these images of a freer, wilder time give much succour to the soul.
